The last movie I saw was Narnia. It was a pirated DVD copy I watched in my grandmother's house last Christmas, three months ago. I did not see so many movies that I would have seen if I had the time and money. I did not see Wallace and Gromit. I did not see King Kong. I did not see Kiss Kiss Bang Bang. I did not see Nasaan na Si Efren. I did not see Maximo Oliveros. I did not see Aeon Flux. I did not see Little Manhattan. I did not see Memoirs of a Geisha. I did not see a lot of movies.
I used to watch everything. I read about the Oscar Awards this year and the only movie I watched was Crash. I miss sitting in the front row in a cinema and watching.
Today, I watched the first movie I've seen in three months. Three months is a long, long time. Can you remember what you were doing three months ago? I can't. It's been a long, long time.
That movie is V for Vendetta. I can sing praises for the movie, but I won't. I can't sing and praises are boring to write and even more boring to read. I'll just write random thoughts.
1. The Guy Fawkes mask should be nominated for Best Actor next year.
2. Watchmen's next, and it'll be just as great.
3. Nobody can monologue like Hugo Weaving.
4. Natalie Portman is magnificent. And she is all over Manila, with and without hair.
5. I'll always remember explosions whenever I hear the 1812 Overture.
6. Now I know where they ripped off Equilibrium from.
7. Nobody's watching this movie! The seats were only a quarter full.
8. In the final face-off, I could name the veins that were stabbed. Left external jugular! Right External Jugular! Brachiocephalic! Brachial! Transverse! ...etc, etc. Fun.
9. I could change my Soc Sci II paper topic and write about this movie instead. I'll entitle it "The People Versus The Leviathan." But I won't.
10. Evey in the rain. A bald girl, hands outstretched and looking up. It's the UP Oblation.
11. I like movies that look good. If I can sit through the movie with the sound muted, then the movie is good. Movies like this, like the Wachowskis movies or the Cristopher Doyle movies, are the best kinds of movies to watch with the sound muted.
12. A few scenes that made me tingle: Evey in the rain, the march of the V's, the kiss in the sun, V staring at the domino that didn't fall, Evey being processed, Cry Me A River, and The Explosions of course.

Nasaan si Francis. FRANCIS! Didn't get to watch it either. And yes, V for Vendetta is one of the best movies I've seen. Though you are such a geek for taking note of the veins being hacked at. You need to take a break...
